MONOPLACOPHORA
They are considered "living fossils".
The shell is in one piece, as the name of the Class suggests.


POLYPLACOPHORA
They are mollusks which have a shell composed of several pieces (many).
They are all connected in order to act as a shield.


GASTROPODA 1
The FIRST part of the Class that contains the greatest number of mollusks.


GASTROPODA 2
The SECOND part of the Class that contains the greatest number of mollusks.


BIVALVIA
The very explicit term Bivalvia indicates that the animals in this class have a shell composed of two halves, or valves.


CEPHALOPODA
Their organs are in their head and tentacles grow on this head; from a biological point of veiw, they are the most highly evolved of mollusks.


SCAPHOPODA
The shell of this mollusks is extremely unusual; infact its shape reminds one of an elefant's tusk.
